Description: 

This female Galepsus (Lygdamia) brincki Beier, 1955 is guarding its ootheca.  It was found on Mt Regenstein, and is one of the praying mantids collected during the "Gladiator Expedition" to Namibia in 2002.  The main aim of the expedition was to find specimens of Mantophasmatodea; a secondary aim was to survey other animals in the region.  Phil Bragg collected mantids on the expedition.
