Body lenght 30 mm, yellow hind wings, brachypterous, no markings on the inner side of coxa. Collected on flowers probably not far from Nairobi.

This female Ameles spallazania (Rossi, 1792) was found in a garden centre in Chesterfield, England by Geoff Garratt in May 2001. It was amongst some pottery that had recently been imported.
This female Oxyothespis dumonti Chopard, 1941 is one which was reared in captivity in 2001. The original stock was collected by Philip Crisp while on holiday in Tunisia.
